The Soap Box Community Guidelines

We want The Soap Box to be a safe and constructive space and so we’ve developed these community guidelines to help ensure that.

By subscribing to The Soap Box you agree to abide by these community guidelines. And you understand that, if you do not follow them, you may be asked to leave, and your subscription will be cancelled. No refund of subscription fees already paid will be given.

  • Be Kind and Courteous

We want to model curious and human-centered engagement in our conversations within the community, just as we’re learning to act in this way in our lives and businesses.

  • Respect the privacy of the community

Not everything is content. And we want our members to feel confident in sharing their struggles and personal experiences inn The Soap Box. So, please don’t share conversations you’ve had within the community without the express permission of all those involved.

  • Come to the community with a curious mindset

In all conversations, be open to dialogue with others, and to learning from the perspective of other members and visiting speakers. Be ready to ask and answer questions in that spirit of curiosity.

  • Treat every member with respect, even if you disagree with them

We want the community to be a place of respect, trust, kindness and support. As such, no discrimination, hate speech, bullying or degrading comments of any kind will be tolerated.

All are welcome here regardless of background, race, religion, sexuality, political perspective, or ability. This is an inclusive community and any behaviour that is deemed to go against that will result in a warning or removal.

At the end of the day, we want The Soap Box to be a space for kind, considerate, constructive conversation and learning. And hopefully, by all following these guidelines, this is what we’ll be able to create!

You can reach out to Peta if you have any concerns about a member’s conduct.

  1. Give and take

The magic of this community is the interaction between all the members. You all have much to teach and much to learn, and being active is an important part of being a community member. We know life is busy, but the more you put in, the more you’ll get back. So try to make it to the calls, or catch the replay and continue the conversation. Contribute to chats on different topics. Get to know fellow members, and share your own perspectives.

  • Share your wins and your struggles

We want to celebrate with you when you make progress or break through a barrier. And we want to support you when it’s hard. Both aspects are equally important to moving forward as a socially and politically conscious business owner.
